I still have the 18x9.5 Eagle Alloys that me and a few other members special ordered a few years ago. I'm thinking of going to an 18x11 with the back and 18x8 on the front. Not familiar with having wheels cut on (balance, strength) so I'd like some input.

 

I just talked with these guys about making 10" and 5" rims out of a set of stock chevy 16" rims.

Pete is a good friend of mine. The guy is a wealth of knowledge. He ported\polished\port matched my setup, all to match the street cam he designed. I am running his TB as well.

 

I picked up a set last year and they dont say the offset or width in the back spokes. I always assumed they were 18x8

 

eagle 219 wheels came in 8 and 9.5 width with 4.5 and 5 inch backspaces, with 5 being the more common.

weldcraft wheels, highly recommend. they narrowed my boyd timeless wheels from 8 to 7 for the front.

 

The ones we got in the group purchase the op is talking about are 18x9.5 with a 6" back space. I also have two normal production 18x8 with 5" bs.

As to widening the 9.5's to 11, I have thought of doing that to two of mine as well. I just can't justify the cost since there isn't a great tire/size for the wheel and I really want to go to 20's anyway. I can get a good tire in the right size in 20 and can have a wheel with the correct backspace that will actually tuck when I lower the truck down a little lower. I just hate to give up my Eagles as they are a great looking wheel.

 

Well I haven't priced it yet so I have no idea wt kind of money I'm looking at. I think a bfgoodrich g-force sport comp-2 (275/40/18) would work well on the fronts and a 345/35/18 MT ET street radial. Fronts would be a little shorter but prob not too bad. Just something I was thinking of...

Wt kind of tranny are you running KID? I see it's an 80 but did you buy it from a sponsor or build it yourself? I'm in the market...

 

At 26.7" and 27.5" the tires are a bit short for me. Even with the 4/6 drop I'm thinking of doing, I think they would be too short. I plan to stick with a ~29" tall tire.

I'm running a junkyard 80 that I went through and installed a Transgo HD2 kit.

 

Same here, wanting to go with spindles in the front to create a 4" drop but still on the fence about tire sizes.
Nice to hear that about the 80, I'll prob do the same. I'm sure there's a sticky somewhere about everything needed for the 80 swap..
