Default Thinking about lowering, what would be best?

Hey guys i'm looking into lowering my truck a little bit, mainly to help the handling and lower the center of gravity.

I'm looking at some spring kits but i'm not sure what would be best. I want a mild/moderate lower, something that smooths out the lines of the truck but doesn't mess up my ground clearance and only helps handling.

Would i need just new springs, or would getting new shocks be a good move as well? I've been looking at eibach because they make great kits for Camaros, but actually i'm not quite sure where to proceed.

If you guys can help me out that'd be great. Thanks!

Hotchkis makes a good kit for our trucks. Has coils in the front and leaves in the back. Supposed to be a little stiffer than stock but the handling is a lot better from what I've heard. Several guys on here are running this kit with good results.

Like what stroker said i think Hotchkis would be the best bet for a mild 2/4 drop. Maybe also using some Belltech shocks all around.

I have the Belltech 3 front with coils, 4 rear hangar/shackle, with the Belltech Nitro active shocks all the way around. The truck handles great, but the ride quality suffers. The worst problem I have is the rear bottoming out, but there is not much you can do about that, unless you put a c-notch in. Overall I love the stance of my truck and the poor ride quality is worth it.

get the tvs kit from tybrne.com its like $880 or something and hotchkis is offering a $150 off all orders right now. That includes coils springs, and both sway bars.

I've got a 02 Chevy reg cab stepside, I first put a Bel-Tech 3/4 drop on it 3in Coils front and Shackles and Leafs that gave 4in. I hated the way the front set a lot lower than the back and the front was really stiff. I went back and ordered 2in Coils for the front and Toxic Drop Shocks and C-notched my frame on back and now my truck rides really good almost stock. And it sits perfect Front maybe a hair lower after the springs settled but it looks really good and I get complaments all the time on the way it sits. 2/4 Bel-Tech with some Drop Shocks. Best bang for the buck

Cool hearing a lot of good words about Hotchkis.

I really like the way Stroker's truck sits, so i'll look into that kit. Thanks guys

I'm running the Hotchkis TVS, it looks great and handles better. All I need to do now is swap out my shocks which currently suck. I've never bottomed out and ground clearance isn't a problem. It can't quite handle the same load in the bed as a stock truck though, but that's just another reason for me to tell my dad why I can't haul crap for him
