Default Th400 question

I have a built th400 but the kickdown cable isnt hooked up. I just ordered the kickdown cable and my question is will I see any improvements. The tranny currently has a shift kit but wont chirp 2nd. Just wondering if hooking up the kickdown cable will increase line pressure somehow.

Not really, imo. It will be more responsive when passing, and under heavy loads. I've always removed the kickdown and just manually shifted or let the tranny upshift for me.

TH400's did not have kickdown cable. They have a kickdown solenoid mounted inside the trans and an electrical connector on the side of the case.

TH350's had a kickdown cable.

Everything was electric until we put the new motor in and we disconnected it. Ive ordered a kickdown cable kit from lokar and was just wondering if it would the performance of the tranny.

The kick down switch is just that, no more and no less. Get an adjustable vacuum modulator. If you disconnect the vacuum line, it should shift way harder. The adjustable one lets you make it firmer than stock, but not as hard as taking the vacuum line off.
