Default TB Stall(converter) & 4.8....worth it?????

Thats right. Trying to see if pairing a lil ole 4.8 and the Trailblazer torque converter will be worth the effort at all or not. I'm not planning on huge mods for the new truck. Right now just a tune, cai, exhaust and waiting on a ported 90MM TB. Eventually, I am going to cam the truck, but its going to be a small torque cam, something like a comp 206/212 112 LSA or something similar possibly a custom grind.

Maybe even jumping to 4.10's from the stock 3.73's sometime down the road too.

I'm just wanting to add a little more fun for my daily driver.

I think it would be worth the money. I got mine (which is a 4.3 converter) from a buddy at Aammaco for nothing. They replaced it, and it was good. So he test flashed it fopr me, and it flashed at 2300 if I remember correctly. So you may check your local trans shops, you may find a deal.

i just put a redstar performance 2600-3200 on mine.....and i love it. <8K miles on it so far>

it flashes to 2600 on the footbrake, and dropped me almost a full second in the eight mile. you will suffer a slight gas mileage loss in city driving, but the holeshot will ALMOST compensate for the dumbass torqque management that is put on these trucks.

i suggest a good tune....getting rid of TM.....either Nelson or Wheatley....or get a live dyno tune. that will net you more than the CAI, exhaust, or a larger 90mm TB.

Well, I've already had Wheatley tune my truck and all the TQM is gone already. I'm not worried about city gas mileage either. I drive about 80 miles a day and about 75% of that is freeway. So I've already got some supporting mods with that and the exhaust and CAI. Sounds like its helped you out quite a bit. I might have to go this route. Thanks
