I'll bet you can dig more up on the search around here... I know this has been brought up a kazillion times. I'm not trying to be a poop head but I dont think many people will answer this one...

but to answer what I can:
it should flash around 2600 RPM behind your 5.3 and it wont have any ill effects on your tranny at all. it would be better to tune for it but I dont think its absolutely necessary.... also make sure you get one from an I-6 TB... some ppl get the ones from the V8's and end up pissed off because its the same damn thing
-hope this helps some.

Just go ahead and get a real performance converter. The TB works, but its because youre putting in a application it isnt designed for. But to answer your questions, you wont have to get re-tuned, but it would be better, all they are gonna do is modify your lock up points and maybe shift points. It should stall between 25-2800, and it shouldnt stress the tranny any, in fact it may take a little stress off of it, just make sure you keep it cool.

Mine is holding up just fine, so far. Since installing it, I have blown a G80. It seems that the rear end is weaker than a TB converter.

Check my sig for mods. I ain't easy on it.
