Default Tansmission Cooler?

What is the stock transcooler good for. I was looking at it lastnight and it seemed a little small IMO. What is a good one to buy. I want to keep the 4l65E as cool as possible. Is the size of the cooler the main thing to keeping it cool? I do alot of driving and the southern heat sucks. It usually sits just under 200 degrees(transmission). Should I upgrade from the factory one? It is only 3/4"x5"x8". What are you guys cooling with?

Yes definately upgrade the stock one it is a POS. Especially if you plan on pushing your truck.
My tranny Cooler
Give you an idea of how big it really is

I would also suggest getting rid of the flowmasters for some magnaflows the flowmasters do not flow nearly as well as some of the other manufacturers.

Thanks, I heard that about the flowmasters. When I close the exhaust cut outs I actually get worse gas mileage.

Were you able to use the stock lines and fittings with this huge cooler?

Do you know what the stocker is rated at? I thought it was a 8000 or 9000gvw.
The reason I ask is I have the tow package with the factory cooler and want to upgrade.

Its a POS regardless I had one too on my truck. I cut the damn thing off and chunked it in the trash. If I had to guess by the size its probably around a 6-8,000. Since you already have the factory cooler that makes the install just that much easier. I t will cost you about 60 bucks to go the AN style fitting route with stainless steel braided lines.
