Default Taking a while to go into OD when cold.

As the weather got colder and my truck sitting at work for 12 hrs over night my truck takes a few miles of driving before going into OD.
I let the truck warm up for 8 to 10 min, then I drive stoplight to stoplight for about 1 mile then I get on the freeway. It takes about another mile to mile and a half before the trans goes into od. Even after it shifts into OD my trans temp doesn't get above 110* after a 30 min drive. The trans is a custom built 4L65E that is only 4 months old, and I have a custom tune done on it also. I have EFI Live and I will hook it up to it and see if it's a tuning issue but I don't think it is. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

That's normal. Your truck is in overdrive, but the converter is unlocked. The converter will not lock until the transmission reaches a certain temperature.

if im not mistaken, the trans temp has to reach 75degrees before it locks up...... i dont know if these can be changed through HPtuners/EFIlive?
