TA Girdle Oil Capacity?
#11
Im about to fill mine up. I bought an LPWracing cover and it looks almost identical to the one pictured in this thread. I wasnt sure if i had to use the factory fill or the cover fill. :phew:

Just an update... Yes use the stock fill hole to gauge fill level. I feel stupid. I thought the bottle of oil I was putting in were pints. They were quarts. Using the fill hole on the girdle, like I did I put over 5 quart in the damn thing.
Using the stock hole right at 2 quarts.
On another note I've made a couple of pulls and I swear the girdle has improved a hard accel vibration I feel.

Roger, so 2 qts. is about right. What brand & weight did u use to fill?
Did u add any friction additive? If so, how much & what brand friction additive?

I've got a question. Those TA's are $$$, which begs my next question. I bought a TA cover for my 89 c1500. Never installed it, & was wondering would it fit my 04?

Sorry old question that I'm not finding till now.
2qts. 75W/90 Mobile Synthetic. Which I've read now is not the way to go. Conventional should be used. I did not use any modifiers but running a Detroit TT.
I don't remember. Sorry

Correct, Synthetic should only be used if you have the stock G-80..
The Eaton LSD and Detroit TT should use Conv. Dino oil along with some friction modifier.
