had simialr issue with a buddys malibu. ended up being his Master was shot.

the drill mod fixes the fast shifting issue. drill mod is a 1/16 restriction in the 1/4 line that is used to save the rear/trans of the Fbodys and trucks. it wont allow you to fast shift. everytime you press the pedal fast and slows the fluid down, next time you press it now your limited to amount of fluid, next time you do it you have no pedal

If it's the original, or "the one it came with" then yes I would. A weak slave cylinder can ruin your syncros/blocker rings.

a weak slave wont ruin your syncros....some R-tard that continues to drive it with a clutch that isn't releasing all the way will ruin the syncros.

I'm with most everyone else. If some of the fingers on the pressure plate aren't bent or broken then it is in your hydraulics.
I just thought of something, I had a problem with my master breaking and pushing out of the firewall. get someone to mash the clutch while you watch the master and see what it does. It is just held in by some plastic tabs and rotates 45* CCW to pull it out of the fire wall. I had to machine an aluminum plate that went around the master flange and bolt it to the fire wall for it to hold in.

It works though.

I laser'd out a 14ga stainless plate since I've heard of this problem. I never did use it though. I think I still have it, but you would need to remove the power brake booster to install. Anybody want it if I can find it? I still have the CAD too.

yeah ill take it vanilla.

well got the truck all back together. found the throw out bearing was barely turnin on the inner race, it looks like it was spinin on the plastic housing. changed that out, changed out the slave as well. the slave i bought today had a spring on it that was almost an 1-1/2" longer than the one i pulled out. did the drill mod, took her out for a spin and still have the problem but not as bad so im gonna try to bleed it again tomorrow. clutch still looks fine, talk bout a pain in the ***, but its fun when it works. thanks for all the input and help guys ill keep ya posted.

A plastic slave? That's scary. Slave cylinders or master for that matter don't "blow up"(unless they're made of plastic). That's a good reason not to use a plastic slave(you don't have much choice in regards to the master). Masters and slaves fail when the seals wear out. "O" rings, debris boots, etc. wear out over time. That's normal wear and tear. If a slave "blows up" it will certainly fail, but that's NOT normal wear and tear.
