Well....... crap.....
I ordered up a Yukon duragrip and some US Standard gears in 5.13 ratio in preparation for an upcoming T56 swap. Well I finally got around to installing them in the driveway today. Got it almost all the way done and was trying to install the axles when I found this... Can't get the pin out of the damn carrier to install the c-clips. WTF???
Anyone ran into this???

The bolt is out for pin. The pin is hitting the gear and impossible to remove from either side of carrier.

Well I just talked to Ron at Rons Machining Service where I bought the gear/posi package from. I guess the industry standard is to grind the gear down off the corner without getting into the wear pattern. They even have a video on their website showing the procedure. I'm going to remove the carrier tonight and instead of grinding the gear, I might machine a flat along the length of the pin. This way the ring gear stays in tact. Seems like a more logical way to approach this problem IMO.
