Ok cool. Still use the truck starter? And what about drive shaft issues?

I used a GTO starter cause I went with a GTO tranny as I preferred those gear ratios over the F-body version. My truck is a rcsb, so I just used a driveshaft outta a 4l60e rcsb truck and it fits fine. Still gonna get a built one though to handle the higher speeds and eventual higher power levels.

i used my truck starter. need 4.56-4.88 gears or it will be a DOG

although if you can keep it at 60mph on the highway you can get 25mpg in 6th

Yeah i figured i would need a lower gear, how does the transmission feel when you really get in on it? I was thinking of going 3.75's

My tranny feels pretty damn good when mashing the skinny pedal. Just today I chirped 2nd pretty good and 3rd gear just a bit. And that was short shifting my wee 4.8 at about 5.2k rpm or so.

you will regret driving a 4.8 with anything less than a 4.56
