Default Swapping from disc to drum -- what ABS/hyd mods needed?

Planning to swap an '07 1/2 ton 10-bolt into a '99 1/2 ton with discs.

Any ABS system modifications or hydraulic restrictor modifications needed?

Maybe wants to run a smaller rim or something? But either way, don't do it.

Easy now, guys.... slow your roll a little. This is a street/strip truck -- mostly strip. Need to stay with traditional 15" diameter rubber. The smaller drums allow 15" wheels with lots of flexibility on offset.

Back to topic -- what braking system mods are needed?

Even tho disk look cool. Drums offer more surface for braking. But switching back to drums. Alot may have changed in the master cylinder designed on the newer truck. You may have to delete the ABS and go with a adjustable proportioning valve. and set your braking bias with that.

Thanks tillery... that's what we suspect, but just looking for someone who's successfuly done it. We'll figure it out one way or another... just looking to learn from someone else's experience.

Brake/hydraulic work kinds sucks in general... especially when you do it more than once (or twice....). would like to nail this right the first time.

Pretty sure that I've heard of guys going from drums to discs with no changes to the hydraulics but installing the calipers and possibly switching the brake lines, but I don't recall anyone going the other direction, although I'm sure someone has done it. Many have complained about the brake feel with the four wheel disc setup, and guys who have driven both claim that they like the braking from the drum setup better. Personally, after driving GM vehicles for years, I have no problem with the brake feel of my truck with the four wheel disc, especially with my Praise Dyno cryogenically treated pads and rotors, and Russell braided stainless brake hoses. The brake feel does diminish drastically when I'm running my 20's in the summer for sure though...
