Default Swapping 2001 chevy 4l80e + transfer case to 2003 escalade awd...

I've got a 2001 k2500 suburban that has a 4l80e tranny with transfer case. I'm about to upgrade the my 2003 escalade motor to put out 600+ hp. Since I have a complete suburban to switch tranny's around with, how difficult would this project be? I know the escalade would then have 2wd/4wd capability, and the suburban would then be AWD, but is this worth my trying?

Thanks in advance!

Why are you thining of switching these around? I am using the AWD transfer case from a 07 Escalade and while it works great for the street it isn't so great for snow or any kind of off roading. From what I have read the AWD case is only good for about 500 hp btw.

The escalade has severe torque steer under power, and I have a complete suburban at my disposal. I just bought an mp122 to put on my forged 6.0l, so the power is now there.

Let me know

Yeah I know but I am kind of confused whether or not the Sub is going to be used or junked after the swap. I completely understand wanting to deep six the AWD but what I was trying to determine is if he plans to put the AWD in the Sub. That I certainly wouldn't recommend unless it is strictly a road going vehicle.

Well in that case...

It is definitely worth the swap. The AWD case will likely break trying to put 600hp through it so it is better to be safe than sorry. I don't know if the transcross member from the Sub will fit the Escalade for sure but there are 4L60 to 4L80 kits available.
