Sorry for the break, had to find the site. Check out this link, and before doing anything, hear me out, it works, i've put on 59k miles on our older 99 and it works perfect, so i did it will our new 04 right away. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/inde...howtopic=26037
Now you can buy replacement grease.....but it sucks. Take a cap to a paint can, and put a little JB80, just a little, figure this shaft don't hold much, but we are going to force it anyways. Normal top to a can, put about 1/8 anti-sezey, and about 1/8 of normal grease. Mix it up well, now if it's a little running from me not giving that good of a descrp. of the amount of that, add a little anti-sezey to it. Maybe a little grease also. Follow the directions, but instead of making sure there is more than the recommended 1/2 of grease showing when you extend the shaft. The anti sezey makes the shaft not stick, grease helps it stay thick, and the jb80 just mixes it well so it doesn't come out to thick, i've tried different amount, don't make up your own amount, because i've tried different ways, this works best, any questinos, PM me, because I don't get notices for replies to my messages here.

also and the more you take time and put in it, the more it will last. GM puts like 6ml of this stuff in from there replacement tub, i ended up putting like 10x that in it until it was coming out the top and no more could get in it, problem is there grease breaks down to fast, mine don't stick, and doesn't cause the shaft wear that ends up making the play, which returns screws up your shaft.
