Default Steering issues.. rubbings, wheel bounces back and forth when turning.

HELP! this is for my 1999 Silverado 5.3L with 230K

i doubt its my ISS, as i experienced that with my 04 Tahoe.

not sure if its the pump, gearbox, hubs...

when turning, i feel some pressure, then it will let off and the wheel will kind of bounce back and jerk a little. it seems to get worse.

any questions, its real hard to explain.

My 96 yukon is doing the same thing now at 236K, I flushed the power steering fluid yesterday but it didn't really help. I'll let you know what I figure out. Your truck happen to be 4x4 also?

negative, its just straight 2 wheel.

i hope i can isolate something, i dont have the money to just start replacing parts, and sadly suspension parts arent always the cheapest

im starting to think it could be the bushing on my sway bar.

Ive always gotten feedback through the steering wheel with a bad wheel hub or tie rods. It tends to scallop the tires when they are bad. Jack the front of the truck up and start checking stuff. My vote is wheel hubs. Ive put 3 on and my truck and it only has 145k on it.

Im thinking wheel bearings or tie rods. Both of my wheel bearings went out around that mileage. I replaced one with a quality high dollar brand and have had zero issues. I replaced the other with the cheap china brand and it lasted 4000 miles. Put a temkin brand in and haven't had an issue.

ya after the past couple of days im thinking the same.

tie rods or wheel hubs, im starting to lean more towards tie rods, it makes the pulsing sound, but i can semi jerk the wheel to the left and it stops, but the slightest turn right, you can feel it pull back and start making the sound again.

not sure if they is the rack and pinion

when you buy a rack and pinion, does it come with tie rods?
