Default stall? truck feels slower?

is it me or dose a stall just make your truck seem slower? It takes off alot quicker no doubt but seems like the pull stops but on the other hand it seems like the speedo is moving quiet fast.. I just dont get it lol

Also after the stall was put in, My truck idles funny, serges while in gear.

Mine serges also. I have it tuned for a looser stall i had in previously, so maybe it will fix when i get it retuned.

if you went with a smaller diameter, then it has less roatational mass, which makes the engine more sensitive to your cam.... which means you probably need to make some idle adjustments (running airflow, throttle cracker, etc...)

The more "loose" the converter is (which is another way of say the higher the stall speed is...) the more torque multiplication there is in lower RPM. The multiplication factor gradually tapers off as RPM increases. Higher torque multiplication also converts a higher percentage of the mechanical energy into friction in the fluid - heat.

Speaking strictly of high RPM, a tighter converter transfers more horsepower to the input shaft than a loose converter can.

In other words, what you have noticed is CORRECT.

I agree. i went to a 9" and had to do that. it was surging in gear. Have an 11" waiting to go in that'll work better with towing.
