I am not speaking from experience, but 2500 should be OK for pretty heavy towing. Just make sure you have a large enough cooler.

I pulled about 6000# with my tt2600, works good, no problems.
No idea how the pi is built though, you should ask the manufacturer

by the way the truck is an 04 rcsb Z71. i have the factory trans cooler. one more question i have is. there is a place at the beach where you can drive on the beach and the speed limit is only 15mph. how bad would this be on the trans to be in 4hi at under 15 mph?

I drove my truck 120 MPH in 4Hi, you'll have no problems at all. The factory trans cooler may be marginal though for towing with a looser converter.

thanks for all the info so far, but one more thing i got the converter from a friend that had it on a 6.0 345hp version anyway when he ordered it it was a 10.5 triple disk 3200 stall but in my truck the 295 5.3 it flashes at 2500,2600 so does that mean its a 2500 stall for me? maybe a dumb question but im new to the converter thing lol

The advertised stall speeds cannot be exact. It depends on your torque/weight/load ect. Some converters typically run tighter than advertised, and your truck making a little less torque than the 6L it will stall a little lower. The tripple disk clutch is really nice, I would feel much better about locking it while towing compared to a single clutch.

I tow a 5,000lb. camper with my yank 2600 and my temps have not gone over 180F with the stock cooler.
