anywith a 3200ish converter...how much did you raise your lock-up speeds for each gear? i hear 5-9mph above stock is a good start, wil it hurt anything to be running stock lock-up with a 3200 converter until sometime in the next month or two when i get a new cam swap and HAVE to get it retuned, i jsut dont want to spend 75 bucks on something i can live without

I am in the process of sending my spare ECM back to Bryan to get him to raise my lockup points after installing my converter . I was also told that the converter will lock up at any throttle position including WOT in 3rd gear at 80mph. I'm gonna have him raise that as well as the lockup mph. I would say you would be ok, if you're just bumping around town just drive in 3rd. Once you're running 65-70 got to OD. Just watch your trans temps.

if im just chillin around town then there is no way that ill be going 80 MPH, but if you are saying that it should automatically lock up at 3rd gear then that makes sense, i dont have a trans temp gauge so if the trans temp light comes on then ill just shut her down but i have a cooler so i should be alright, anyone else?

Why have it un-lock at WOT?

Maybe it was misinformation, maybe I didn't say it correctly. 80mph in 3rd gear is up there in the rpm range with my SS since it has 4.10 gears. I was told that in the SS anyway that it would automatically lockup regardless of 100% TPS or not. I know some turbo guys lock them after a certain RPM at WOT to gain performance. I believe doing this requires a 3 disc lockup or something. I remember seeing something about raising the auto lockup point in 3rd to 100mph, which it shouldn't be able to reach.

i too remember seeing something about people locking up their converter at various speeds in various gears WOT or not because that would entail full transmission v engine engagement and not as much power lost because dyno numbers are MUCH higher if you pull with a locked converter, i talked to john at fuddle and he said to raise them 5-7 mph like say in 1st gear, lock up somewhere past the stall speed for the converter which would be like 42 mph then in 2nd 65 ish and some people run full lock up in third and forth but this is all from memory im not totally sure
