Default squeaky shackles

I've got 2" lowering shackles on my 04, and at slow speeds(0-30) it squeaks like an sob. On other GM trucks I've never had this problem before. It has been doing this for 8 months to a year now, and I can't stand it any more. What can be done about it? I have put some grease inside the shackle, and it helped for a little while and came back. Is there something in my leafsprings or possibly some where else that could be making that nasty sound. Thanks for the replies.

Make sure you got the bolts in the right direction. The first shackle install I ever did, I put the bolts through in the wrong direction and it squeaked like a bitch.

:word: I believe factory torque specs are 88 foot pounds, but I don't have my Haynes in front of me so don't quote me on it.

The direction of the bolts will have no effect on the shackles, you probably tightened them too much the first time.

Do I loosen all bolts, top bolts, or bottom bolts. Also, how come this brand (taillock) has never done this on any of my other trucks or customers trucks that I sell them to?

I have never heard of the brand you have but I had an issue just like this on my 99 GMC.I had to keep taking them loose and greasing them. The next set I went with Chassis Tech pieces they have grease zerks built into them, now if they start to squeak I just shoot some grease in there.
