well 250 bucks and a couple of days later and I have a new pump. But I have a question, is there anyway of telling if the pump is all the way in? There is enough room for the flex plate to clear. Can you turn the converter by hand and get it to pump or could you not turn it fast enough. thanks

whoever fixed your transmission should be able to give you a measurement from the bellhousing mating flange to one of the flexplate mounting tabs on the converter to know if the converter is fully engaged with the pump. when the transmission is installed there should be a gap between the converter and the flexplate. not sure on 4L60E's but on older th-350's you could feel three engagements when you slid the converter onto the input shaft.

well i figured I would update this a little, the old pump: I broge 2 teeth of it and messed up the back half by putting a grove into it. But as af about an hour ago it is up and running better than before. The v-6 converter seemed to help quite a bit. It is a lot looser than the holeshot 2400 I have in my other truck but I am starting to like it. thanks for all the help
