i have a 95 chevy silverado single cab lb c1500 with ss rims from a 92 ss454 current engine is a vortec 5.0l 305 thats worn out and has a blown head gasket and possibly a warped head and over 260kmiles i want 2 swap in a vortec 454 and tranny out of a newer pick up wil it bolt right up if not what modifications are needed???

 

does anybody have any experiance with this adviec is much needed

 

Find a BB equiped 2500 truck or suburban and pull all the parts, engine, trans, the mounts, etc. should bolt in... will need to shorten the d shaft. might need to change the front springs too correct for the extra weight. Pick up a 14 bolt 9.5 too the 10 bolt wont last with those miles on it...

 

unbolt small block bolt big block in its place same mounts same bellhousing bolts etc. even the accessories will interchange but the brackets wont so you get heavy cast iron ones. i went from a 4.3 to a 454. on my truck if i wanted to i could of used the 8.1 manifolds and used the factory y pipe if i was swapping in a pinch
