ok i just got done doing the trailblazer converter in my 09 silverado 5.3 4wd. Everythings seemed ok last night and this morning, well after work today i got to driving the interstate and notice when shifting into the third my rpm gauge would max out almost and id get off the throttle and it would shift into third but would never shift into 4th. I went to a buddys shop and got him to run a scan on it and found a p0741 that talks about the TCC being stuck off? I do not want to hear bad news. Can anyone help me out? It takes off perfectly and shifts very smooth into 2nd but then i get problems....

Did you install the converter correctly?

 

as far as i know i did....it all went together pretty smooth besides lying on my back for hours. Im wondering if i may have bought a bad converter or maybe some trash from my old converter got into my tcc solenoid?

 

Converter locked or not it should go into 3rd and 4th... Clear the code and drive again. If it persists, check the solenoid... Beyond that, sounds like the 3/4 clutch or something in that circuit may be unhealthy.

 

Have you checked the trans fluid level after running it???
