Default Short bed ride help.

Guys or gals with a short bed 03-07 classic Chevy, How can I make my 04 Short bed standard cab ride a little better, it's 100% stock right now, and I FEEL EVERY LITTLE bump or divit in the road.

I wanted to lower it 4/6 but, still wanna keep my 20's on it, AIR bags I would do of funds allotted, but if I can swap out shocks or springs and lower it or hell just make it a little more comfortable I'd be happy.

lower profile tires tend to ride harsher than your everyday tires. what size tire do you have? a drop kit all the way around looks cool, i got one, but it will affect the ride some. pm me and if you an send me a pic of your truck and more on what you wanted to look like i suppose. good luck, rob

those are tall tires for it to ride as you say. you sure it is not dropped any at all? cause if it is, the oem rubber bump stops in the rear above the axle need to be trimmed and the front ones near the coil springs need to be removed period. the truck may be hitting on them bumpstops causing you to feel every bump or divit as you called it on the road.

if you look on top of axle above bump stop and below the front bump stop you should be able to see bump stop marks if they are making contact.

That's just the way they ride. I suggest Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks, and some weight in the bed.

I can tell you that when I run my 285/50-20's in the summer it rides like a harsh brick, but when I swap on the 275/70-16's in the winter it's like I installed a comfort-ride suspension on the truck The brakes feel a ton better with the 16's on also...and both sets are about the same height, but the extra sidewall and smaller rotating mass make a big difference
