those of you running a tr224-112, what are your shift points set to? my 1-2 and 2-3 shift is 6400 and it seems to still be pulling. just curious...

Is that with your current cam, or when you had a tr224?

I'm pretty sure I would benefit from a higher shift point, but am afraid of the stock rod bolts and what not... this motor has 136k on it

 

thats just a better reason to buy a 6.0

 

oh i agree, i just need to buy a transmission before a motor.... BONE stock ORIGINAL tranny. the converter swap a couple of months ago is the first time the trans has been out of the truck

 

i would leave the shift points alone with a stock tranny, wait until you built the tranny then raise them up...

 

i hooked up with charlie last night. we swapped the 02 pcm in and logged about 10-15 wot runs, lol. shift points are now at 6750 for 1-2 and 2-3. ut pulls HARD up now. the truck is much better now! charlie is tha man. the trans is on BORROWED time, so its gonna be built pretty soon

 

eh don't worry about it...i shifted my stock tranny at 6800rpm for 50000 miles...its still goin strong in another truck
