Default Shackels and towing...

Would a set of 2" rear shackles effect the towing that much on a RCSB 5.3 truck?

I don't have them. I may be selling the Camaro soon and buying the 06 5.3 truck back from my parents in a few months, so I was just pre-planning But I know Summit has them from Belltech for under $50 and the shipping is free, and very fast (next day).

I have a 2006 8FT bed SILVY with a 6 inch drop in the rear and c-notched with a 2 inch drop in the front and I tow a 4000lb trailor around with split wood and it tows just fine, plus it looks awesome. With a 2 inch drop you still have plenty of room within reason to tow IMO.

I had a set of 2" on my '96 Tahoe and towed a 6000lb trailer, no problem. You should be fine. Michael

2" shackles won't change the towing capacity of your truck. All they do is set the rear leaf spring eye higher up in the truck.

well oviously it will sag 2" more because it is a 2" drop, but why does that matter?
