rpm gauge acting up

Default rpm gauge acting up

Ok for some reason my rpm gauge is resting at 4000 but the truck is still running normal anyone know what could cause that even when its off its at 4000

Defective stepper motor. You will have to replace the cluster.

Check with a local dealer or three.....there has been recalls on them. Its worth checking in to because you have to go to the dealer for them to reprogram it with your info and it ain't cheap

I just tried reseting the computer and it went back to normal

It may get stuck again so if its still under the 3yr/36k warranty you might want to take it in. Otherwise congrats on the free repair!

They normally will warranty a cluster beyond the normal warranty period.

That was only on the T800 extended warranty for 03, 04 and 05 vehicles. It covered them up to 80k.
