Rotor advice?

Default Rotor advice?

got a quick question on rotors.

for my truck in sig\/

i was lookin for some brake rotors since my are warped (i think, it shakes when i put on brakes)

some power slots? someone said they aint no good?

or OEM= bout $70 for both front ones, i already have a set of brakepads.
any suggestions??

i tow bout every other weekend, and race some(if you want to call it that?)
and in town alot.

i would like to go with OEM but wanted some advice from you guys!

i dont want to throw out no more than $200 maybe not even that much.
let me know what yall think.

OEM's are fine - they're Brembo blanks, some of the best available. The stockers will do everything you need them to do. If you do actually need slotted and/or drilled rotors (which most people do not), you should be upgrading the entire braking system anyway.

You can do Hawk HPS pads if you want for a little more braking power, but the improvement will likely only be marginal. If you do, your brake dust could increase, and you may end up with noise do to poor seating. You could also get some stainless steel brake lines which may improve pedal feel, but don't do much functionally. You could bleed your system and put in ATE Super Blue or TYP 200 DOT 4 fluid. The boiling point for this fluid is much higher than stock, so it is actually much better. You can get it here for a decent price.

All in all, the stock brakes are pretty good.

I think im just goin to get the OEM rotors, and i already have some OEM pads.
I replaced my rear pads bout 8 months ago. they started making the light screach noise so i pulled them off and put some new ones on, rear rotors look fine.
$70 beats $200 anyday

i always have used Wagner pads on my truck and i am very happy with them. have you had your rotors turned at all yet? if not that is a possibility and a way around spending even $70 and still get another 50,000 miles out of them. i have done a brake job on my truck and it was all easy up until the part about getting the rotors off. They are a floating rotor and they rust to the hub which fuses the two together and it is a BIOTCH to get off. I had to use a block of wood and a sledgehammer. Me and my old man took turns smacking the living crap out of the wood so it didnt dent or ding the rotor. Have fun.

That is why most cars/trucks have holes that allow you to thread in a bolt to push the disc off of the hub to prevent using a big f'ing hammer.

Wagner pads are comprable to OEM, and probably are cheaper.

i tried getting my rotors turned 2001 silv, and no one would do it. they all told me that due to the hardness of the rotor surface they cannot turn them without breaking their cutting tools?? it sounded like b/s to me they werent in too bad of shape anyway.
