Rossler 4l60E builds on hold!! Who's 2nd best
#1
Hey guys,
Trans went out on my truck a while ago. 4x4 2003 RCSB 4.8. Saved up finally to get a Rossler, went to order and noticed due to work load they aren't building any 4L60E's. I was looking to the street and strip trans since I have just a BB tune, exhaust and leveling kit with 33's, plus it was in my price range which helps. In the future I may go with a procharger kit but that would be in a few years from now.
Who's the next best? I almost pulled the trigger on a monster trans until I got informed by some people who actually had some experience with them. I am really wary about this purchase because the inside of a transmission isn't my specialty and I don't want to get boned because of my ignorance on the topic which is why I don't want to just go to a shop and say "Build a trans" and them just through a shift kit in it. I want it to last.
I know it's a generic question but someone give me some opinions that I can trust from experience. It takes a lot to save money.

FLT(Finish Line Trans) has a good rep for 60Es. (Site sponsor). I ran one of their all out units until I did the LSX twin blower setup that necessitated a 4L80E. That 60E is still running great in my wife's Trailblazer. Give Chuck a call to discuss your needs. FLT 4l60E options

80E might be overkill for a 4.8 with a tune, and you might not appreciate the gear ratio changes. But if you are planning on a power adder, you should go with a much higher level of 60E build or a 80E. Or plan on another trans swap along with the power adder...or you will be doing one soon afterward.

Thanks guys. I thought about an 80E but the gearing would be to bad for me at this point. Especially with me not being 100% sure about getting a blower. If I did it would be a few years down the line. I will check these options out. Thanks again.
