Default Removing overload springs?

Removing overload springs. Should I do it? Anyone have experience with removing them or how it effects performance? I wanna pull them off a 2000 silverado.

You'll need to install some sort of traction bar setup to eliminate wheel hop induced by spring wrap after removing the overloads. Many have done it, including myself. There are a few different options out there for your truck.

If you put helper bags on to act as overloads I don't see a problem towing.

I have them off but a traction bar is a must because the wheel hop/axel wrap

I installed 2 inch hangers,2 inch shackles and pulled overload in rear to achieve a 5 inch drop. I had to put washers on top of the nuts cause I didnt have enough thread and worked out fine. I have Belltech Street performance shocks on rear and it rides great.Truck is a 2000 GMC regular cab.
