Looks great Jason. I had a 1/2 ton leaf pack on my HD with the overload removed. I built a ladder bar to counter axle wrap. Do you have any traction device?

It was really easy. It took maybe an hour with air tools.

If the weather is good, I am going to strip my truck and try to get it under 5000 lbs. The bed cover for sure will be coming off.

Sold the caltracs because I was going to do a flip kit. I guess I need to order a set. Do you get alot of wheelhop when you run at the track?

What brand of air assist do you have?
I have the belltech kit with firestone bags and compressor kit.

I had the Belltech notch on my last truck and I liked it alot better than my McGaughy's. I would spend the money since your bag brackets are probably pre-drilled for the correct location anyways.

Thats what I will probably will do then.

Just curious, what is the difference between the Belltech and McGaughy's?

I still have the ladder bar but it is specific for the HD truck. There was an extra 2 inches under the bed to make it fit on top of the driveshaft.

that looks sick man. I think thats definately what I'll do when I get some time to level my truck completely. I thought about it with the hangars but we ran outta time. Looks great, and good luck at the track

I see. I remember you saying it took you awhile to make one. I am sure you probably did research before making your own bar, but what made you go with a ladder bar rather than something like a caltrac?

The McGaughy’s notch does not wrap and sandwich the frame like the Belltech. Also the Belltech comes with a cross member notch for your bed just in case you go lower than a 6” drop in the rear. I still haven’t needed to put that part in yet but I have air assist so I don’t think it is necessary for me.
