I have a 30k from B&M mounted in front of the radiator plumbed after the trans cooler in the radiator, I replaced the stock thermostat with a 187° and don’t see but 170 in June on the Gulf Coast

I've found many aftermarket fans to suck pretty bad. I had a Derale set up for my main radiator fans and it was terrible. Went to stock and it solved my cooling problems and ended up costing way less money too.

If anyone is interested, I ended up going back to running it through the radiator and I installed a 40K behind the intercooler and she stays nice and cool now

I actually ran my 40k under my radiator at an angle from lower radiator support to lower front crossmember with a spal 8” fan. Fully loaded 5 hour drive in 85 degree weather it runs 170’s( 2500hd 10” lift with 37’s 4:56). I had it behind my intercooler and it would run 190’s before with dual spal 16” fans pulling air through intercooler trans and rad. Just my setup.

The OP is complaining that it didn't do a very good job of cooling.
But I have to suggest that he didn't do a very good job of installing?

The purpose of the fan is to pull air through the plate/fins.
However, it's been mounted so close to the chassis that I'm wondering if it was able to pull enough air through?
Looks like maybe a half inch of clearance.
So it would be pulling some air through around the sides, but there would be large "dead spots" towards the middle, where no air was flowing.

I'd have installed it with about 3"-6" of clearance behind the plate.
The more, the better!
Anyone else have experience with these units and can comment?
