I'm w/. BOSS302. I don't plan on 4.10s, since I'm keepin my 3.42s. Maybe, maybe 1 day I'll do 3.73, but that's only if I don't get my ET I'm goin after & my self-imposed limit to keep mileage in check. I do plan on a Tru-Trac tho.

let me know if u want an eaton posi unit or an auburn ,i have both for sale and loved em both .no problems and they worked great .i liked eaton myself, but 4.10s used quite a bit more gas on the highway .3.73 seem to be an good all round gear ,thats my preference.let me know if youre interested in either of my posis .pm me

Well, let me give you guys a little more information about my ride. I have put some OEM silverado ss 20's with 275 45's on the truck and have a 3/4 drop on the truck. I swapped the factory 5 speed for a t56 and installed some slapper bars. I took the 4.8 and replaced it with a lq4 6.0. The orginal gear is a 3.42. I spray it with a 125 shot just for fun. I plan in the future to build the lq4 into a 400 to 450 horse truck. Cam will not be over a 220 duration. Not really interested in spinning the motor more than 5500 to 6000.
Right now the 1st gear is fairly long. I cruise at about 60 mph at 1000 to 1300 rpms.
My goal for the truck is just to have a fun street truck that will do rolling burnouts and still have enough torque to pull the chevelle.
I kind of figured some 4:10's or 4.56's would restore my cruise rpm of about 2000 at 70mph. This is what I had with the 5 speed and 16 inch wheels.
I do pull a chevelle to the track occasionally, but that is about all the towing I do.
I like the 1300 cruise at 60, but I do have the feather the throttle a bit to get the truck moving from a stand still.
What do you think the best gear for my application would be?
