Default rearend girdle really a necesity?

is it really that big of a deal or is it just something extra really? I was about to order one from thunder, but don't want to drop the cash if it really isn't a huge necessity.

I had one on the 10bolt on my old car but it was on there when I got it so thats the only reason it was there. I guess I can always upgrade later...

It couldn't hurt, but I don't feel it's necessary for alot of our applications. I'll say this though, last time I was at the track, all of the guys who seemed to know what they were doing were runnin em...wonder if they got a group buy lol.

I've gone 7s in cars without a girdle.... I think I'm gonna hold off for the time being and just replace the bearings etc and put the posi/gears in and get'er done!

A must, no, but it definitely helps keep the rear end together longer in high hp/tq applications. I'd do it if you plan on doing hard launches frequently.

I like the looks. Did mine when I serviced the rear. Did the studs as well.
