Rear End Differences?????
#1
Does anyone know what the difference is between a 2005 10 bolt and one out of a 2008. Both are out of Silverado's. I just ran into some rear end issues and I'm needing some info. If anyone has had any experience on these please let me know. I found one out of an 08 cheap. I would like to put it in my 05. I'm not worried about the spring perches or anything.

It doesn't have anything on it. I will just put mine on there. They appear to be the same. Maybe a total of 1" wider. Not a big deal to me. I wish I knew someone that has done this.

I have found them to be 1 1/2" wider than the NBS, and on the SUV's the added lenght was found from the upper arm mounts outward, 3/4" on ea. side.
totalling 1 1/2" wider. I could only asume the leaf spring (truck version) would be the same. from the perches inward would be the same, the measurment outside the perches would be wider for the NNBS. The actual frame width of the NBS and NNBS seem to be the same. It 's the Outside frame measurments that seem wider.

Buddy bought a damage 09 Silverado 4x4 about a month ago.The rear end was bent a bit.Ask us to do the switch on the gears and the case.He said that the replacement housing is off an 01.I just noticed that the inner pinion bearing and the diff cover was different(cover does interchange).2 days later,he was driving the truck. So I'd say theirs not much difference.
