Angry Rear end broke AGAIN.

I can't get the truck home yet, but hopefully I'll know what happened to the rear-end tomorrow,, It stated making a howling noise during deceleration and got worse. Crawled under the truck and it feels like the pinion bearings are shot.
O-well, I set a new personal record with the truck. It staid running for almost four months.
I did cut a few more 1.90 60' times with two adults and one kid in the truck. I think I could have done a 1.8 by myself

The pinion nut probalby backed off. I've had it happen to me several times on different vehicles. You have to install a new nut everytime and tq properly or it will back off. Common problem. If you drove it a while like that then your ring and pinion is ate up and the pinion bearings are probably as well.

Just when you thought the howling was one of the neighborhood kids holding on to do some "surfing"....feel your pain!

If there is in pitting on that rings gear you know it will never be right...right?

Ya, even if there is no pitting, I'm still not sure It will ever be quite again, but I only drove it a few miles, and once I figured out that it was the pinion, I drove in 4wheel drive, to take the load off the rear end......

1FUNZ71, You call spinning the tires all the way up the on ramp babing it????????
