rear end blew up need help

Default rear end blew up need help

i have a 2005 crew cab 5.3 with the works done. it had drum brakes in the back but i want to switch to disc. no idea where to start. i need a new housing and all. i know the guys at moser and ive ordered the axles already though them. i want to go with a detroit tru trac and 3.73 gears but i dont know what to do about the brakes. any ideas?

I am pretty sure you can just put new backing plates on the current rear you have and add discs to it...

go to a a junk yard and get the 99 to 03 i think... (mby 04).... disc brakes and bolt them to your current rear axle.... i did this with my bros 05 or 06 ccsb 2wd... it just bolts right up but you have to either modify the current brake hard lines or bend some new ones.... pretty easy swap
