Default Rear disk brakes....

Hey guys,
I've got a 2006 GMC Sierra rcsb. I know some of the earlier trucks came with rear disk brakes from the factory. I'm just wondering what were the exact years and would I be able to bolt those disk brakes directly up to my rear end housing? Thanks guys!

No it won't bolt on...you need a different rear end unless you do some modification bracketry

Something about debrit screwing up the functionability of the braking system......or something to that nature......I just remember that it was one of the two rears that always got it the worst. Oh it was the right rear, the left has the tank blocking debrit from the front tire.
I have the disks in the rear.....no problems here so far.

I've also heard of issues with the small parking brake drum built into the rear discs.

Some have said that the Silverado SS rear disc brake setup will just bolt up with a little work.
