Does it help with the strength of the G80? I really am not ready to step to the Eaton, cause I want to go with different gears when I go eaton.

I ordered mine from boltdepot.com (some people have found theirs at Home Depot or Lowes) - 8mm X 1.25 thread and 40mm long (although 35mm long will do fine).
I take that back.... Im thinking of my flywheel bolts. My diff bolts came from Totally Stainless. I wanted 12 point stainless bolts, thus why I went through them for my header bolts and diff bolts.

Not so much the G80. But puts pressure on the bearing caps. Under power sometimes the diff likes to push out versus spinning with the pinion. Thats where the girdle helps out.

Hey Jared, truck is looking sweet. Had my own ideas about the cover being a bandaid without replacing the carrier too. Will be looking to get one of these covers when I replace the G80. Who found the best deal on one of these covers? Looks like there are several places to buy one.

Thanks! I got the cover from Marc, RedAddiction. Its not really a band aid per say. The bearing caps arent the problem in a G80 either. Its the G80 itself thats the problem.

Here is another question, now that you bring it up. If I was to install an Eaton or Detroit Locker carrier, and one of these support covers, with some 4:10 gears. Has anyone broke an axle shaft after beefing up their rear end?
