Quetsion about gears
#1
I have a 2004 silverado 4x4. Ive never had a 4x4 before. And was wondering do i have to change both geras if i up the rear gear?

no not really......the only difference would be the rear will have more low pulling power than the front....it's a good idea to change the front too......so if you ever get stuck you will have the front and rear pulling the same.....so if the front is a higher gear ratio it'll just spin and not pull

Just remember, something has to give. If you're in loose dirt, or mud, it will probably be the dirt, but if youre on hard ground, or hit a root or something in a rut, it will probably be a driveline part or more. If you are ever going to use 4wd I'd deffinatly do both.

Id have to agree, besides I know from experience that you get what you pay for, go cheap now, pay big later.
