Default putting a t-case on a 97 2wd

so i have a 97 2wd c1500. im putting a dana 44 straight axle out of a 79 bronco under it and i want to use the stock transfer case they put in a 97 chevy 4x4. am i right on saying that its a 241? but my question is: will the case just bolt up to my transmission after removing the tail housing or what needs to be done?

I think the np241 is the one you would want. On 4x4's the trans has a 4wd Tail housing, You will need that...

you will need the longer output shaft, and a way to shift the case.

YA, you have to change the output shaft and to do that, you have to take all the guts out of the trans to get to 1 snap ring that holds it in. kinda a pita.
