Mine doesn't seem to want to disengage under load. It comes out of 4 when I let off usually.

There seems to be some debate as to whether the 4wd will disengage at WOT when you hit the button, some time after you launch (like deep 2nd as Bill does). Some guys have reported that theirs stays locked in until they lose some throttle angle, while others report that it disengages shortly after they hit the button (how they know that it's actually disengaged is beyond me, I'm assuming that the truck feels like there's less drag on it or something).

I'm curious now...I have the push button auto 4x4, and have been wanting to convert to AWD for some time now (just because it's cool and different, and I like the handling aspect of it). Unfortunately, my money situation is bad, and it looks like it will be quite some time before I can mod anything.

But anyway...is one better than the other? Seems like guys around here have pushed some major power through both the NVG-149 as well as the AutoTrak selectable t-case...are they both basically comparable as far as how much abuse they can handle, or is one stronger than the other?

I can definitely tell when I get it back into 2wd...seems to be hit and miss with some trucks being able and others not.
