So yours goes back into 2wd when you hit the button at the track Bill? That's good to know. IIRC, when I was testing mine it didn't until I let off the gas a bit. I wonder if there's something in the tune that can address that?

What's your opinion on which T-case is "better" bud? You have the AutoTrak like mine and your truck rocks...makes me think that I should just stick with my current drivetrain and fix what's broken in it. It will be less money and less hassle than going AWD

Yeah, pedal down hard and it will disengage. One time it didn't or I forgot and as I got over 110mph I really knew I was still in 4hi

As far as hardware I could tell you.

yeh you can tell. 4wd is just rough feeling and as Bill says when you get to 100MPH and then crack 110 it feels like you are breaking into the atmosphere from space. I floor it from the line and never let out.

I read some torque specs on these units a while back and they are just ridiculously high. I would never, ever go to awd. 2wd is too much fun and when **** gets serious 4wd is a blessing.

All good info...I'm thinking more and more about just leaving it alone and doing the gears and locker...less work, less dough. I must say, I love the auto 4x4 in the rain, really helps out. Once I get my driveline sorted out, I must get to the track and see what she does...been a long time and a lot of mods since I ran the 1320

the only debate concerning running in 4wd that I see as a questionable ordeal is running in auto or 4wd in the 1320. Plenty on here use auto but i have broken my setup with auto (not at the track though). Hell I haven't used auto since 2005. 2wd or 4wd only for me.

Agree. Never use the auto except in heavy rain or snow. Launching in auto would put a tremendous shock on it.

Oh yea, I've read here many times not to launch in auto 4wd...I know that I have an old thread floating around either here or in the GM General section about launching in 4wd...I'll see if I can find it...

Here's a good read...I may go through it later and see if it's sticky worthy...

This is good info! I know some diesel that leave in 4wd when at the track. As far as auto I'm not sure if I have ever even put mine in auto haha
