Default pulse whip modulator or on/off??

i have a protorque 9.5" triple disc 3400 stall converter. my truck is an 03 silverado ss 4l65e believe. the trans shop built my tranny and installed the converter. he converter it to on/off style lockup instead of the stock pwm. from reading i think its recommeded on single discs but not multidiscs? basically going say 45mph in traffic u tap the brake. when u hit the throttle it violently slams into gear. trans guy says it will blow my differential. he says they usually do a pwm delete on high performance applications. can u give me any info of how to eliminate this? reinstall pwm and have it tuned out? or leave the on/off style in? thanks!

It's not as likely to break anything as he's making it out to be, unless it's not properly tuned and locks up at 50% throttle. I drive a triple disc 4600 stall with on/off and it has the slightest of bumps when engaging- BUT it's properly tuned so there's only 8-900rpm difference when the TCC engages most of the time. The gear shifts hit harder.

OK. I stopped at the shop and drove it band didn't think anything of it. He says its like a2k drop. But I would have to drive it more to really know exactly what the drop is. Seems OK to me. Not tuned yet. He's afraid I'm going to blow my diffs. Thanks for the reply. I couldn't find anything online about this. I'm surprised with so many built 60,65s

Like you said it feels like a bump. He made it sound like it locked up the tires or something Lol. It lights all 4 up from a stop. Seems legit lol
