Default pulling tranny is a ****

finally got my tranny out tonight. everything went smooth except i had to cut the exhaust and then when it was time to free the broke *** from the engine, it wouldn't budge. after a little cussing and coaxing, it finally came loose. i never want to pull another one.

Just threw in my 30,000mi used one from a 95 caprice into my 99 silverado.

I thought it was fairly easy since i have alot more room under there, try changing them in a 97 fbody, hell of alot harder. Hardest part IMO was the same as yours...trying to get it off from the engine just because all of the road **** and heat from the engine. I took a little 10lb mini sledge to mine around the edges just because it was already thrashed and nobody would want to try and use it again.

hopefully this will be my last tranny to have to pull. next time, i prefer to pay to have it done.

the pin on the driver side is what held that bad boy up there. it had a little rust in it which wouldn't allow the tranny to slide free from the engine. sad part is, had the servo not blown out the side of the tranny, i think it would still be trouble free.

Hardest part was putting in those damn toggle switches!!!!!

Glad you got the tranny out, though. Get it fixed so that Titan can stomp on your ***!!!!
