Default Popping sound when turning

On my 2000 Silverado 1/2 ton, I get a popping or clunk sound whenever I turn. It is difficult to say where it is coming from, but it isn't felt through the steering wheel. It will also happen when I am turning and going over a bump even at a slow crawl. Any ideas or experiences?

I did the int. shaft lube kit over a year ago, but didn't have this problem at that time. It started after I lifted the truck and has slowly gotten worse.

It is 4wd with the Superlift 6" knuckle kit and 35's on it. I cranked the torsion bars a little bit just to level it out, nothing extreme in fact it still leans forward. My CV angles look to be about 30* above the horizontal.

Playing with it more on the way home I noticed if I yank the wheel to the left quickly it will pop. It seems more common on left turns but when I run over uneven stuff it will pop no matter which way I'm turned. It's not a repetitive pop either, just 1 per turn/bump.

Okay, now that I think about it, if it were 30* it probably wouldn't even be there anymore. I looked in the dark and I'm tired, I will get a better measurement tomorrow morning and post it. What is the range that CVs give up at?

Sounds like a CV. Crawl under the truck and check them for play?

Got about 68k on them, and there is some play in it, I can shake it in and out of the shaft about .250" Is that bad? It sure doesn't seem right to me. I will take a pic and post it up here in the next few hours.

They shouldnt move at all mine dont move. The u joint sounds like it is toast. One end of the half shaft has splines on it where it comes out of the front diff this part will slide on the output splines of the diff but the other end has a u-joint and the only way it should move is if it is screwed up. If it was ball joint then the tires should wiggle a little does the tire wobble a little if not then my vote is for the u-joint being screwed up.
