Plannin on Eaton LSD install this weekend.
Ok here is what i want to do..
Replace the Gernade80 with the Eaton LSD, keeping the factory 3.42s.
i have the shim kit and everything. do yall think it will be in spec with the factory shims? Im having trouble finding a Dial indicator right now.. So when i can get one of them ill be ready to go.

i dont think so, when "axosT6" did mine, it took him about a good hour and a half to shim up the eaton right, just make sure you do everything right, when he installed mine, it looked pretty damn complicated, lots of little detailed things to remember

summit, jegs, personally though, im a machinist so i can tell what a quality indicator is so i would buy a starrett, mitutoyo, or brown&sharpe. Also when you remove the caps that go over the carrier side baerings, mark which side they come off of and when you torque them use the criss cross method as if you were putting lug nuts on a 4 stud axle.

Since your probably only going to do this once buy a lower dollar dial indicator.
They work fine, they just don't last over the long haul in a machine shop.
Try MSC or DGI Supply/DoAll, they will have high buch and import dial indicators. You will need a mangetic base to hold it properly un less you have something else to use. A mag base works best though.
Below are some links, cheap stuff but they will work fine.
