overload spring removal??
#1
I have done the searches and I am wanting know if some of you can answer a few questions I have.
1. how do you take it off, does it just unbolt?
2. what is axle wrap?
3. alot of talk about wheel hop, is that only at the track (which this truck will never see)
4. how much will it drop the rear if removed
5. what does the payload go to? 500-700 lbs?
I have leafspring clamps on it there now which add some stiffness to the rear ride and to me if fine but the wife comented on it and we went over some harsh bumps and it woke my son in the back seat so I though it would smooth out the ride if I took off the clamps and removed the overload spring.
Thanks

the clamps arent always used as a "lowering" solution. it actually helps at the track. with my truck on a 4/7 drop i can feel the rearend roll more without the clamps when it shifts.

How much are clatracs and does anyone have a picture?
I've never heard of these and I've been around and involed drag racing since I was 4 years old maybe its because most everyone I have know goes with coilovers. That's what I had on my transam
