Default torsion keys??

sup guys, i have a quik question hoping for someone to help me out.. I recently bought an 06 2wd silverado ext cab super short bed and aparently these come with torsion bar's....

well id like to lower it and i ordered some drop keys from stylinconcepts from mcgaughys only to find out they were out of stock, and there belltech brand was almost double, sooo my question is this i read that 2500 hd trucks or something oem keys act as lowering keys for a 1500, is this true?? if so i think i can pick some of those up for under 50 bucks instead of like 125+ shipping.. trying to make this a budget project lol

Yup, the 2500 keys will work. No reason to spend the extra cash for aftermarket ones.

Yup, same thing.

And I was able to get my purple keys for $40 shipped, just find a guy with an HD that put in some leveling keys.

I honestly haven't gotten the truck aligned.

I've been running an old set of tires that were already taken off of the truck because they were trashed, so uneven wear isn't really an issue (I just adjusted the toe myself in the driveway, and said **** it, I'll wait until I buy tires).

I have a 2002 tahoe and i had my djm torsion keys installed for about three weeks until removed. I removed them becasue i couldnt get a correct wheel alignment with them installed. With the stock keys i was able to get the truck low enough that was level with the rear which i was happy with and the front wheels look more straight then before. Im still waiting to get an alignment done. Im in new york not sure where you are but im willing to let them go for about 50 shipped. Let me know.

Cool Thread,

How much do the purple keys lower the front of a stock 1500 4x4 ? I want to get about 2'' drop in front.
