hey guys. I'm having an issue. I'm doing my rewire (cutting out the old A4 wires and rewiring for the T56) and for some reason my backup light isn't working. I am getting power to the "TRL B/U fuse" so I know I'm getting power through the switch and to the system. When I look at the diagrams, it says the backup lamp signal passes into the BCM first. Then the BCM feeds power out to the backup lamp. I can't understand why the BCM wouldn't be sending power out.

update:
I decided to check the signals in and out of the BCM.
- I'm getting power to pin A8 on plug C4 (the input signal from the backup light switch into the BCM).
- I'm not getting anything out of pin F on plug C5 (the output supply voltage from the BCM to the backup lamps).

It seems like for some reason the BCM is not accepting the backup switch signal and refusing to turn on the backup lamps. The BCM seems to be working fine otherwise as keyless entry, power windows, and other accessories are working fine. The backup lamps worked before the transmission swap. What could I be overlooking?

i had the same problem. i just wired one end of the reverse switch on the trans to switched 12v and i found the reverse lights in the main harness running along the frame rail and tied the other end of the reverse switch to that.

ie: you just bypassed the BCM. I'm holding that as my fall back. I'd just really prefer to have everything working "as stock."

yeah its not like its some security feature. I mean short of reprograming i imagine u would need the wires off of the pnd selector and run them to the reverse light switch or just run keyed power to one side and run a jumper wire to the reverse lights like stated previously

K, ignore my whole "APP sensor" issue. Traced it to a frayed wire near the pedal (cut, solder, and all is good now).

So... moving on...

back to the backup light issue is still there

I also can't seem to get the reverse lockout to engauge (pull open to let into reverse). I'm using pin 44 which is what the F-bodies use. Can anyone else confirm their using this pin for the reverse lockout?
