From what I remember they are offset to 1 side and They are also wider than the standard GMT800 rear ends. I am not sure the leaf spring width is the same either.

From what I can tell the axle looks centered. It also appears that the axle is roughly 3" shorter from backing plate to backing plate. Hmmm?

Aside from needing to swap 8 lug to 6 lug axles, will a 2000 Yukon 9.5/14bolt w/discs swap right into a 2000 Silverado?

A NBS Yukon XL 2500 housing will fit and you can swap the 8 lug axles to OBS 6 lug axles but there is only 1 solution that I am aware of for the brakes.

Thats to make a new brake mounting flange and weld it to the housing.

The 2500 and 1500HD 8 lug brakes have a different offset from the 1500 6 lug counterpart.

Anyone have a part number for the axle shaft for the AXN for a 2006 Sierra. G80, GT5, JF3, possibly a less expensive replacement than the OEM part? have seal leakage with groove in axle shaft and the repair bearing wont let the clip fit back in place.

Last time I checked GM wanted around 550ish for just 1 axle.

Thanks, I will give them a call Monday. Do you know the GM part number? I have been searching the diagrams and the one that appears to be the hybrid axle does not have a part number or description for the axle shaft.

UPDATE! A guy on the performance trucks face book page posted this info for converting the NBS 8 lug 14 SF to 6 lug:

Yukon Axles - YGA-21425

03 Express 2500 6 lug Van Brake Rotors

Apparently the 6 lug van rotors will work with the existing parking brake, caliper, and caliper bracket.
